About
"Austrian Economics" is a school of economic thought that gets its name from the Austrian founders and early supporters, including; Carl Menger, Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk, Ludwig von Mises, and Friedrich Hayek. Murray Rothbard and Henry Hazlitt played important roles in the reviving and establishing both the Austrian School and classical liberal doctrine in the U.S. Contemporary Austrian scholars include Jesus Huerta de Soto, Robert Murphy, Hans-Hermann Hoppe, Walter Block, Israel Kirzner, Mark Thornton, Thomas E. Woods, Lew Rockwell, among many others. Media commentators and public figures such as Peter Schiff and Ron Paul are also students of the Austrian School. |
